I bought one of these and then like it and bought another one for my bed and breakfast guest rooms. They are low profile so it is one of the only trundle I have found that fits under a normal bed with a mattress pad on top. This product is only the frame, and does not come with a pad. When putting the frame together your fingers will hurt. I cant even describe to you how it will hurt your fingers, but my hands were sore for 2 days after putting the cover clips on. Hammers do not really work as a help either. On one of my trundles I put plywood over the poles so that I could have a 2 inch foam mattress as the bed (which is low profile enough to have a 2 inch mattress on top and fit under the queen bed frame. You will need some sort of solid support if just putting a mattress on top without a box spring. I am very happy with the durability of this product, the affordable cost, and the low profile design. Just putting it together is rather unpleasant. Maybe get someone you have a grudge against to help you put this together.
I ordered 2 of these back in March when I had money with the intention of setting them up during the summer. My cousin came over to set them up but both were defective. One is bent, the other has a screw hole that is off center and cant have screw placed in it. Also it looks as if the package with the hardware had been opened. Since its been longer than 7 days I cant return it.
UPDATE: I got a hold of the manufacturer. They also only have a 30 day guarantee. I realize this is my fault, I should have waited to buy the beds until I could set them up but honestly I didnt think that the parts could come defective.
UPDATE: Since there was special circumstances with my situation, the company agreed to send me the replacement parts for free for one time only. Honestly this was extremely helpful. I can not even begin to explain how overjoyed I am that this was solved in this manner. My children now have two brand new beds with space enough to not have to down grade, too much. I would still double check everything when you get it though, but Im guessing that is probably something most people do.
Sturdier than anticipated. Also, a bit taller... We solved that by sawing off the bottom 6 inches of the legs. The ladder rungs are very slender and are uncomfortable for bare feet to climb on so we taped pool noodle on to them. Still working well. My 9 yr old has no complaints.
With a small house and 4 grandchildren, this saved the day when the whole family came for a visit this summer. The bed is very sturdy and after 40+ years of marriage, my husband and I are still married after working together to assemble it!
Just finished the assembly. Another old guy and myself took about two hours. The directions could be a little more detailed. The unit was missing one part; one of the 44 slats. Not a big issue, I just left the missing one out of the end of the lower unit (behind the ladder. It will not cause a problem. The cross slats that support the mattress are actually steel tubes that hook into the side frames. They are held in place by their own weight, but there is also a plastic clip that inserts in the side frame slot that keeps the rod from rattling (44 rods 88 clips.
The clips are a pain to put in. There is one small bolt hole that secures the top left side of the ladder to the bottom side of the top frame (on the ladder side. Make sure the upper side frame (ladder side is installed with the hole facing down.
All of these bunk beds come with upper safety rails. The back upper rail (full length is used as a structural support for the head and foot frames, so it should not be removed, but putting on bed sheets on the upper is a daunting and frustrating task. Trying to get your hands through the frames is a pain.
Anyway; the product arrived in good condition (less the missing piece, and assembly, though time consuming, was uneventful. the assembled unit is sturdy.
A very solid construction! My 10 year-old boy and I put this together. There are some clips that are tougher to put in; however, we used the back end of a butterknife to push them in place easily. Im quite pleased with this purchase and my daughter is ecstatic.
Pretty wobbly but works great! Has enough room underneath that I put a recliner love seat underneath for a lounge area. My kids have a lot of floor space now and are super happy with their more grown up room.

Metal slats make noises after few months
Nice bed but after few months the metal slats support start making a lot of noise. Somebody can tell me how to fix it?

Were very happy with the bunk beds. Its everything you would hope for in bunk beds. Very sturdy.

2 years later, bunk is doing well. Had to replace a few bolts with aircraft types with safety wire holes because the stock bolts will back out.
Not a bad unit.
