This was a great buy for the money. Well packaged with no identified issues. It took me about 3 hours to build this furniture. The instruction are excellent and easy to follow. I did take the time to reinforce the drawer corners with the glue (weakest link) / improve the over structure strength of the .
If you know how to read and follow direction then it is easy to put together.
I dont much construction skills but I was able to put it together with no problem.
Check and make sure you receive all the parts.
Well/made, simple instructions, great color (matched our dresser as if by magic!). A bit time/consuming to assemble and would be additional difficult for one person wor alone, but by no means impossible. Highly recommend.
This is a pretty good value for a storage bed. It is not the best quality materials but it looks nice and holds a bed up. The dark, espresso, color looks really nice and happened to match the dresser and night stand we already had.
The assembly wasnt terrible but I would definitely recommend having two people around to help out, it will make the process go a lot faster.
I only have a couple of complaints. A couple of the dont fully close. They dont stick out far enough to get in your way but they are out far enough to be noticeable. Also, while its not necessarily a fault of the bed frame, it doesnt have any way to connect up with a headboard. We purchased a headboard and I had hoped itd have a way to connect it to the bed frame to no avail. So, we just but the bed frame up against the headboard and it seems to be fine.
Some of the reviews are on are ridiculous but some are very helpful. I read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing this. A customer who reviewed this bed left a very detailed and helpful review a few years back and thats what we went off of. He suggested getting some extra hardware, and we did. We still had issues with the . But I have to say I was actually impressed with the bed. The are great. The bed doesnt make any noise. We have a smal child so I have to get a few times during the night, and our old bed would make so much noise getting up and down a few times. Now theres nothing. I cannot comment on how long it took my hubby to put it together. He was home with our son and I was at work. Some did it little by little all day. He said overall once he didnt have issues with putting it together. But like some said the are tricky. The bed arrived on time. Was 3 large packages. I was skeptical about it with some of the reviews between the construction and materials. But like I said if you read the reviews and take advice from other buyers its actually a good bed. Obviously its not real wood. If it was the price wouldnt be so low. Keep that in mind. Overall Im pleased with the bed and Im happy we have it.
I love this platform! I put it together myself in a couple of hours. I laughed when I saw the directions had approximate time next to each step. My first thought was bite me. The directions were pretty clear, but I would make one small change. You have these little connectors that you are supposed to insert in the holes provided when you begin assembling sides and drawer hangers for the frame and then proceed to the other steps. Save yourself some aggravation and dont bother. They are loose in the openings and fall out every time you move the piece to its next position. Just wait until you have to actually use that connector, then insert it. It will save you chasing the dang things around the room. Once its assembled, its very solid. The only negative is the slats under the mattress. I would have wished they were held in place a little better instead of being so movable. I have a memory foam mattress on top and getting it on there by myself and having to readjust the slats was more work than putting the thing together!
This is a great bed that provides excellent space for clothing and additional space behind the for my sons trinkets. We bought the Signature Sleep Contour 8 Inch Twin Mattress to use on the frame and it was super comfortable and practical for a great total price. Dont be afraid to purchase this as it is well made and easy to put together while also dressing up a plain room.
This is a good bed and assembly is not too tough. Unless you are the Hulk it will take two persons to move the boxes from the delivery point (front door) to the assembly point (bedroom). It is important to read the review by Matthew C. Ziegler on July 4, 2010. His comments kept me from heartache, especially buying shorter screws than those sent with the unit. On the down side, only two boxes of the three arrived first. The third came two days later. One of the boxes that arrived first contained the so I assembled them first. Please keep in mind that the drawer sides and back are made of soft wood. My specific recommendations are this:
1. I would suggest inserting the cams for the drawer fronts from the outside rather than from the inside as the diagram shows. You can do one as a trial. Insert the cam from the inside and look at how the drawer will look when pulled out.
2. Be careful when attaching the drawer rails to the two interior support. The holes in the supports are for rails on both sides. I screwed one rail in too far and it prevented the rail on the other side from being attached sufficiently. I had to drill an additional hole to attached the rail completely.
3. Once the frame and supports are assembled (but before the slats are applied), put the in and ensure that the rails stay in the tracks when open and closed. If they do not it could mean that the frame is out of alignment. You can move/adjust the frame slightly to address this.
4. I used a roll of rubber door/window insulation in the rail opening for the bed slats. This will keep the slats from rattling back and forth.
5. Since the slats are not finished and a mattress will sit on them I used the plastic from the new mattress I purchased as a liner between the slats and the mattress.
On to customer service. I would rate it as wonderful. When my drawer rail came out of the support I needed an additional rail support and screws. I called customer support. They sent me the needed parts in due order and I completed the job. The assembly took five days in total to complete (I was interrupted by episodes of Scorpion and The Big Bang Theory). Continuous time is approximately 4/5 hours.
All in all, if you follow the advice of Mr. Ziegler and the comments above you will have a sturdy enjoyable bed.
