I use this for a guest bed. It provides a bunch of extra storage in the room.
I do not recommend this for anywhere that is damp or for daily use. The wood will absorb moisture. Im not confident that the unit would last from a durability standpoint with regular use. My guest room gets about 20 nights of use a year and this has been great and looks pretty good for not a lot of money.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is it too low. I did not want to spend the extra 200 for a foundation for my memory foam bed. Other than that is good. Use gorilla glue when you assemble and it will not come apart on ya if you have to move it.
We paired this with the King Nightstand Headboard with the floating nightstands and we love how they go together.
Some reviews complained about it not staying together when they moved it but we love it. It is sturdy and we have no plans to move it so hopefully it will stay that way!
I dont know why everyone else was talking about. I was scared to get this bed but I really liked the way it looked in the pictures so I gabe it a try anyway. It came tightly packaged with thick foam around it to secure everything. Nothing was broken (probably an old issue they resolved now). If you know how to read then the directions are clear (screw the piece that looks like this picture to the piece that looks like that picture). It only took my boyfriend and I an hour amd a half to set everything up. I did half and he did half. It sets perfectly on our floor (no wobbling). The drawers all fit perfectly. The support beams are pretty sturdy. Thats what I was the most afraid about until I saw them. They havnt given us any problems at all no matter what we do. The paint still hasnt chipped even though my dog is constantly jumping up on one side. Its a great looking bed.
Lets be honest, we know at this price were not getting a SOLID piece of furniture, but with that being said - I love this piece! You must be careful during assembly as its very easy to misalign some of the brackets which will result in uneven drawers. Even though we made this mistake on a few, it was easy to correct I ordered a full bedroom set made of this same compressed cardboard type of material and Sonomas pieces were the only ones that arrived in relatively perfect condition. The material isnt the strongest, but unlike the other brands I bought, Sonomas arrived almost 100% blemish free and held up completely during assembly.
I was unprepared for how heavy the delivered boxes (x2) would be. I had to open the boxes at the door and carry the pieces into the bedroom in manageable stages. Also, I was leery of quality concerns based upon read reviews of other beds - but I need not have been. I recommend you buy a large squeeze bottle of carpenters wood glue. And, have an extra pair of hands helping you. This is a two person job. The frame is a medium density particle board so gluing every joint gives superior results. The instructions are excellent. All of the pieces fit perfectly, the drawer hardware (slides and bearings) are superior quality. Useful too, there are YouTube videos online showing you proven ways to build the drawers. All in all, I was exceptionally pleased with the end result. But be prepared for a two-evening project (glue drying time included). The drawer bases are plywood. The mattress slats pine boards.
This is a great piece. I read the reviews and was worried but it is solidly made and drawers work really well. Added a lot of storage to an otherwise too small bedroom. Beyond the 12 drawers it also has huge spaces behind the drawers for storage of other items like the down comforter in summer and extra aerobed etc
Whatever you do. Have help moving the boxes. It comes in four boxes three of which are very reasonable but the fourth is a back breaker. Not to be attempted alone except by the most muscular of buyers
This bed was exactly what we were looking for and for the price, I dont think it can be beat. However, a very important part was missing and it took me 8 days to get ahold of anyone to get the part ordered, and another 6 for it to show up.

Looks nice, but not super sturdy
Bed took a while to put together. A few of the steps were unclear so I had to re-do them. Not a huge deal. The extra storage is fantastic to have.
