Dreamed about a bunk bed like this!!!

I have 2 boys and one is about 165lbs (14yrs and the other is barely 75lbs hes (12. I needed something my kids can grow into and I was terrified at buying metal over wood. I read the reviews over and over so I took a chance and glad I did. The bottom bunk is large enough that my son who is now 57 can sit up without touching the top bunk. Im in awe at how sturdy this bed is. I put the bed together in about 3 hours, didnt mess up the ladder and it looks better than the posted picture. Read through the directions a few times before you start and read the reviews for extra help and it will all be worth it. I was looking for a trendy bed that would last more than a year and I found it! My youngest loves the top bunk and my oldest hasnt complained yet about the bottom and (he complains about everything. I purchased the signature sleep 8 inch bed which leaves just enough space for the guard rails to catch my son for some reason he decides to roll or slip out of bed. The ladder is cool and strong enough for an adult to climb. Freakin love our new bunk beds!! Forgot to mention there are these gray square things that numb your thumb. After 40 minutes and inserting 3 I gave up. The way the top bed is made, I didnt think it was needed. To date I see no reason why the thumb killers are useful..

    Those @!$^% gray tabs!

The bed went together quite well until we got to the point of snapping in the gray plastic tabs which hold the metal bars in place. The instructions just say to insert mattress support bars into the slots of the crossbar assemblies and then to snap the gray plastic tabs into place. What they DONT tell you, and what you must do, is to push down on the metal bars until they lock into place - then, and only then, will you be able to snap the gray tabs in. To insert the tab, hold it so that the raised areas inside are vertical with the flush side down -- slide it under the lip on one side, and snap it into place on the other side. Once assembled, the bed is very sturdy and quite comfortable, hence the 4 stars.

    Great bed. Sturdy. Reasonable Assembly.

I was anxious about buying furniture without seeing it first, but my husband convinced me that the reviews on this piece were good enough to try it. We purchased two - one for each kid. They are very sturdy, which was my biggest concern. They took about 6 hours to put each bed together and was done by one adult independently. One issue was that there are pieces that look symmetrical, but arent. This required partial disassembly and reassembly multiple times. We are VERY pleased with the final product.

    Wish I got two

Solid bunk bed. Took about 2 1/2 hours by myself. I will have to get some padding for steps on the ladder.

Best Bunk Bed in the $500-and-under Price Range

This is a great bunk bed. We chose the white color, and it is perfect for our two daughters. You may think that this bed takes up a lot of room because of the full mattress on the bottom bunk, but the sparse design of this bed actually opens up the room, unlike a wooden bunk that makes a bedroom seem smaller and more closed due to all the woodwork involved. This bed lets the light shine through from any windows you may have. It does the job well at a relatively low price. Highly recommended.

Great be for our 7 year old

We bought this bed for our seven year old son. He loves it. Positives Its very sturdy and has adequate railings to make sure he doesnt all out of bed. This bed is a great space saver for a small bedroom. We were able to put a lot of my sons things underneath it and now he has a lot of room to play. Overall it is a great bed for the price that work in a childs room or possibly in a dorm room. Negatives: This bed requires a lot of assembly. It takes quite a while to put together and has a heavy frame. I put it together myself, but it may be easier with two people. The bed will make some noise if the person in it is moving around a lot. Its a squeaking type of noise that can get a little annoying if your child is a little rambunctious.

    very cool

I live in a tiny apartment in NYC. I am a 58 female. This bed is great, looks really nice and sleeps well. No complaints. I had the doorman assemble it which he did in an hour.
