We had just moved house and all the family coming for Christmas. My husband put together 2 pairs of these bunk beds. They are beautiful and the children loved them. Great product for the price, though lots of work to put together.
We bought this item for ours sons. Currently our four year old is on the bottom bunk, and the top bunk is unoccupied. The item looks great, and the construction seems very solid. Our only gripe was during assembly the long pieces that run along the side of the bed, are poorly labeled, and very similar looking to boot. Several times my wifes commented, why are some of these labeled, and others are not? This led to us having to take apart the beds to flip pieces around, and adding an extra half hour or so the process. Once they are built they are a fine looking piece of furniture, but be warned, and be wary.
These bunk beds are perfect for my boys (5 and 7). Very sturdy and a great deal for the price. My husband and I spent about 2 hours putting them together, and we had no problems. The box was very heavy, and we did help the Fed Ex driver a bit with getting it up to the house. Im sure she would have managed on her own with her hand truck but it would not have been easy. Once we got it inside the front door, my husband and I opened the box and carried the pieces up the stairs instead of trying to carry the entire box.
We bought this set for our 5 year old daughter and (almost) 2 year old son. Were trying to sell our home....and they share a small bedroom. Hes also beginning to climb out of his crib...yikes! So, we thought this would satisfy the space restrictions while providing a safe bed for both of our kiddos!
It is a great dark blue color and fits nicely in a small space. It is a shorter bunk bed, which is great for small kids. One review talked about limited space between the top and bottom bunks, but I dont see this as an issue since my little guy will be sleeping down there, not me! The directions are all pictures, which I do hate, but once you get part of it together, the directions make a ton of sense. All of the hardware was included and worked just fine. It took us about 3.5 hours to put it together, but we had a lot of little interruptions as well. Its nice that it separates into two twin beds as well (which is an easy thing to do....take the ladder off, separate beds...thats it!)
Overall, we are very satisfied with this purchase! The price is great....the bed is super sturdy...color is great... Most importantly, the kids LOVE it!
Pros:
/ Sturdy; my husband and I have been on the top bunk (1 at a time, of course!). We did cut 2 sheets of plywood to put on top of the slats to make it even more steady and solid, as our kids mattresses were thin (from IKEA). With thicker mattresses, Im sure just using the slats would be fine.
/ Good instructions; easy to assemble, but still took myself and husband a good part of a day to get it all together just cuz of all the pieces involved.
/ Nice color (we ordered the chocolate one)
/ Like that the ladder was interchangeable//can put it on either side. And, the ladder didnt come out from the bed and take up more space in the room. Nice space/saving feature!
Cons:
/ The finish isnt as great as they claim. The stupid stickers they put to label the parts wouldnt come off very easily, and many of them took the stain/finish off when we tried to take the stickers off. Annoying!
/ The wood is VERY soft, so it must be cheap pine. So, claim that it is "solid wood" is a bit deceiving. Yes, it is wood...not particle board. But, it is not high/quality wood. We knicked the bed a few times putting things together and getting our plywood in/place. I could make dents in it with my finger nails.
/ Becuz of the cheap wood, I am disappointed with the price. It should have been cheaper than $300. Think about it: $150 per bed//thats not cheap...at least, not for us. But, in pricing other beds out...this one seemed in/line with other ones that had poorer reviews for stability. Safety was #1 for us for our kids, so we went for this one seeing that other reviews stated it was nice and solid/sturdy. So far, I agree!
the only thing that was confusing was the size of the bunk bed, not clearly specified, I was really looking to buy full and I ended up getting a twin size. With no time to return or exchange due to having family arriving had to just keep it...
Bought these for my grandchildren. Easy to put together. Took 2 of us about 30 minutes (women / no men!). Fit together great only 1 part split out when screwing together. I e/mailed the seller and they sent a replacement right away. Kids love them and they are working great for us. Kids ages 9, 6, 5. We adults have got on the beds and they seem very sturdy.
My 5 and 2 1/2 year old LOVE the bunk bed! It is very sturdy and the perfect size for young boys. One of the things that attracted me to this item was that the ladder was attached, creating more play space in the room AND not allowing my boys to detach the ladder. My husband did have to drill a few holes a little deeper for the bolts to fit all the way, but other than that it was an easy build.

Looks Great, but Be Attentive During Assemblage

Kids love it.
No screw driver tool for cross-screws. Hard labor to assemble by 1 person but I managed enough to assemble them.
My kids love it!

Sturdy and pretty, but easily knicked and chipped

mostly because of size confusion...
the only thing that was confusing was the size of the bunk bed, not clearly specified, I was really looking to buy full and I ended up getting a twin size. With no time to return or exchange due to having family arriving had to just keep it...
