The boys love their bunk bed. It was easy to install. Some of the parts were missed labeled but were the correct pieces. For example I had too many b pieces but one of the pieces labeled as b was actually c. You have to really pay attention to the drawings since those are correct. Also the boxes were missing the instruction manual. I called and it was emailed to me in less than a minute so it didnt slow us down one bit. I put the beds together alone and it took me about 3 hours of straight work. They look great though and the kids are really happy!
The kids love the new bunkbed.....its not as deep of an espresso as I would have liked but its not that bad. Sturdy enough for the time being and for the price it isnt bad.
Do not be discouraged by the negative reviews. This a a nice solid bed at a very reasonable price. The holes were all drilled in the proper places. I made a few mistakes along the way, but they were all fixable. I think it is a one person job. Just take your time and enjoy it. Probably took about 5/7 hours all together, but I wasnt really keeping track.
1. Two pieces arrived with hairline cracks in them. We sent in the form and new pieces arrived in about a week.
2. Be sure that you have the railing on the bottom faced the way you want it for the ladder.
3. I was working alone in a small room. So after I build the bottom bunk and assembled the ends of the top, I stacked the upper bunk ends on the bottom and then worked from there. One end was up against the wall, so it wasnt going to fall over. That way I had room to work, was standing up, and didnt need help stacking them later when they were heavier.
4. I waited til the last step to screw in all the support slats. It seems that some of them could get in the way of where the ladder attaches to the side rails.
5. Had a little trouble getting the top rails (M?) on the back side in. I sawed off about 1/8 of an inch off one peg and then it fit.
6. Id recommend that you use your own Allen wrench. The one provided is ok, but....
I submitted a picture with some of these comments inserted.
I bought this bunk bed in white for my 6 and 4 year old daughters. I read plenty of reviews and looked at several other beds before finally purchasing. And I have to say almost all of the bad reviews are incorrect.
The bunk beds were shipped fed ex so of course the package arrived in perfect condition, the DA was very helpful and carried the boxes into my garage.
The set up of the beds took an hour tops, yes some of the pieces were NOT stamped but using common sense my husband was able to assemble them with no problems. Some complained about a weird smell and yes there is a smell of new wood. It didnt smell toxic. And my girls were able to sleep in it the first night.
All in all this bunk bed is a steal and well worth the money. Excellentsmanship and not cheap like a lot of the higher end models.
Just put it together so cant say much about durability. It was easy to put together, able to get both bed together in about 4 hrs. The instructions were mostly pictures but the hardware were packaged and numbered so well I didnt even need to read the written instructions. Shipping was fast with prime.
These look JUST like the picture. They are perfect for my 6 and 3 year/old children but are not very sturdy. They wobble when the ladder is climbed on; just slightly but its still a wobble. Overall, my kids absolutely LOVE them and they are just what we expected. Set up was not too hard, about an hour with two men. Instructions were easy to follow.
My 5 year old son absolutely LOVES this bed! He tells everybody, including the check out lady at the supermarket about his two beds! I love the subtle design in the headboard and footboard and the clean lines of the entire bed. I could do without so many bolt/screw holes that you can see just looking at it but its a small price to pay for such a great set of beds. Its very sturdy and well made, I dont worry about my son sleeping on the top bunk at all. The lower bunk is very short, as I have read in many other beds even before making my purchase, but I wasnt planning on sleeping in it anyway and it is the perfect size for kids. We have small rooms so I didnt want a larger profile bunk bed, this almost mini version is just what we needed! My husband plans to do something to cover the holes as well so they are less noticable. The areas where the pieces will stay together for the duration he used wood glue and the bolts to ensure their durability but Im not even sure that was necessary. We just read that one reviewer said they werent very sturdy so we took the extra precaution. We love that we can take them apart in the future for 2 separate beds or keep them together. Very happy with this purchase!
Beds arrived in several boxes. Took about two hours to put together / very easy to follow the directions, though there are quite a few parts and steps. Take your time and youll have no trouble. We set these up as a bunk bed and theyre very sturdy. The top bunk is not as high as some of the other beds we considered / a selling point for younger kids. The finish is excellent and the items were well protected in the shipping boxes. Recommended!
Attractive honey wood color and feels relatively solid once its together. Even smells good. Looks great in the room and both adults and kids enjoy sleeping on it. Some reviews mention that there arent enough slats to support the mattress but no one has complained thus far (including a 200lb 6 foot+ person). Warning: It ships with a ton of disassembled, smaller pieces and is NOT easy to put together. My dad and a friend worked on it while I was doing an airport run and it took them over 2 hours. And they ended up with the ladder on the wrong side of the bed (fixable with a few extra drilled holes), and one extra screw that Im hoping is not a vital component.
