I bought this for my 13 year old sons bedroom. The room is on the smallish side and we wanted to maximize space so that the could hang out with his friends to watch tv and play video games. This is PERFECT for that, the futon is great for adding additional sleeping space. It was relatively easy to assemble too. The only criticism I have is that it could be sturdier. It does shake a bit when my son climbs up to the loft bed. I think with some ingenuity and more building knowledge than I possess, it can be tightened up more.
In a nutshell it is the absolute perfect solution for a gaming/hanging out/sleeping over, man/cave for a 13 year old boy! Well made. Good price.
Hello. My son and I put this together in a couple hours. Everything went well. Had to redo a couple places because I put the ends on backwards. The tough part is the plastic pieces that hold the bars in for the top bunk. I had to have a glove on in order to push the plastic pieces in. Its so pretty
I read the reviews before purchasing this item, and decided to get it anyway. Putting it together was quite annoying, as many others have mentioned. I used an x/acto knife to cut the flanges shorter on the 90/some plastic clips, so they would fit appropriately. It was time consuming but made the installation much more pleasant.
The instructions also dont indicate very well which parts are directional when you assemble it. I dont think Ive seen any product to date that does though, so read ahead when putting it together, make sure the holes line up where they should.
All of that being said, the bunk bed is great for the price. And putting it together is a one/time ordeal so it was certainly worth it. Cute and good quality
My wife would give this a 5. My 9 year old would give it a 5. But they didnt put it together, and Im mad as hell. Maybe its my sore fingers from beating the little plastic pieces in because they just wouldnt fit. More than a couple flew across the room. Some are just smashed in there. I beat the everliving crap out of the support bars trying to get them to fit. They did. eventually.
While I was putting the 100 or so plastic pieces in that keep the support bars from jumping out of their holes, I couldnt help but remember the scene from Terminator 2 where they go in to shoot the man that lead the research at Cyberdyne, ultimately responsible for the death of millions. Or was it billions. Anyway, I couldnt help but wonder if whoever made this had any idea for the horrors he has bestowed on his fellow man. I just dont get why more people havent complained about it.
It took me about 4 or so hours. Well, maybe more with those plastic pieces. Dont plan to put it up in one evening if you get home at 6PM like me.
Looks good. Pretty sturdy. Put a sheet of plywood (48x75.75) on the bottom to help distribute weight with the 6 memory foam mattress we got our 9 yr old. His old twin is going on top. Twin mattress I mean. You didnt think we were putting a twin sibling up there did you? Well you could, but youd have to really play up the benefits of being on top. Me, I like the more spacious bottom bunk.
For the value, its really good. You can spend a lot more and get something a lot smaller. But how much time and frustration would you save with another product? If youre looking for things to get so your husband can put them together and you can save money and have a happy kid, this is your product. Dont let the 3 star rating deter you. If youre a man or handy woman and you want to make the others around you happy (perhaps they like seeing you cry ) then this is your ticket. Needs improvement in quality.
We assembled the bunk bed in about three hours. The instructions are only 8 short pages. Each page includes ONE photo but seven or eight different steps in instructions. We had to find an extra too to install the locking snaps for the bars. After 7 or 8 I lost feeling in my poor thumbs. Over all this is a VERY sturdy bunk bed but with 200 locking clips it should be! OK product, a pain to assemble and TERRIBLE instructions. Overall you got what you paid for.
The reviews for this bed were 100 accurate. Its an excellent buy for the money, and is strong and durable. Its also a pain in the butt to put together (but really, who cares in the grand scheme of things ). Since this bed was purchased for 20/somethings, we didnt put on the side rails, so that is an option if you dont want them on, its the last step. Well done, great delivery
Once you open up the boxes and look at all the parts/ it seems overwhelming at first but its not as bad once you start to get into it. It did take us about 4 hours to put together. It isnt as sturdy as wood, but for the price, its great! study and arrived as pictured!
This is a good bed, very solid, safe, love that its a full size bed on the bottom and single on the top, great for having guests over with or without kids.
Im a very handy guy, i have put together more than a few particle board furniture pieces in my day, this was the most time consuming project i have taken on yet. It took me 4/5 hours over a 3 day span. Its a a great,good looking, cheap bunk bed, I also go a single memory foam mattress for the top bunk for 150, my 7yr old loves it and its SUPER comfortable. I would recommend this bed to anyone but BE PREPARED to put it together, that is its only downfall. Great Buy
Only complaint if any is that assembly takes a little bit of thinking. I accidentally had a part or two facing the wrong direction and had to unscrew a piece or two to correct it. The manufacturer could have made the instructions a bit more obvious and clear to avoid this. For example, clearly marked stickers or points that let you know if parts are facing the right direction.
However this small problem in no way changes how great this bunk bed is. Im 60 225 lbs and have had no problems on the top or bottom beds. For the moment, to save money, I put air mattresses on top bottom with covers underneath to avoid the rubber and rubbing noise. Not to mention the Price! Other vendors have this bed priced at 325 and above. Got it here on for a little over 100 less. I love .com! Will continue to shop as long as they provide great quality service! Very pleased with this purchase

I was looking for a futon bunk bed for kids and i almost bought this one thinking it was a futon on bottom. Hope to improve in the future
