Bought this for my 23 yr old sons room. It is just as advertised. He and a friend set it up in a couple of hours. Only issue is moving the bottom part from bed to sofa and back takes 2 people, so he tends to leave it in the flat position all the time. No complaints, really happy
These took a while to put together. I bought 3 bunks and one double bunk. Use in it in my guest house at the river. Great for family/grandkids and even big men once a year for our golf/poker weekend. Just take your time putting it together. I also put some plywood under each mattress to give it a little more comfort and firmness. simple yet awesome design
Sturdy bed, futon is easy to switch back and fourth. Instructions are fairly clear but could be a little better. Pay attention as you go to where future holes line up. cant praise it enough!
This arrived on Friday and my husband built it that evening. It took hours but was totally worth it. Its a substantial piece of a furniture. Very good quality. The futon goes up and down very easily / my 9 year old daughter can do it without a problem. Futon is basically going to be used to sit on while playing XBox with her friends and as an extra bed for sleepovers. She is absolutely thrilled with it. We did add the spongey pipe lining on the steps of the ladder to make it cushiony. Someone suggested that and it was a great idea! still feels plenty sturdy
This bed arrived right on time from the seller,Its a little trickey to put togeather on the first 4 or 5 steps but after that it went smoothly,The instructions are very good and all the hardware was there. The only thing I dont like is there is nothing to keep your pillows from falling on the floor,So plan on putting against a wall if you buy it,I may make a cross bar for it later on.I like the fact that its nice and low to the floor. Best choice
This bed has a high cage surrounding the upper bunk, which is good. The entire bed is about 6 lower than another futon bunk bed that we have. I would prefer that it be higher, because adults may have to duck when getting out of the futon sofa. It also sits lower to the floor, which means less under/bed storage. Our other futon bunk bed has unobstructed 10.5 clearance below the futon, which means we can easily put a trundle bed or storage under it.
Most of these bunk beds will move if the person above moves around a lot, but the bed is not in danger of collapsing. Assembly is not for the faint/of/heart, but my 15 year old son put it together in about 3 hours.
One nice thing is that there is a ladder on BOTH ends of the bed, so if you move it, there is still a ladder at the end of the bed! Most bunk beds have only one ladder.
Overall, Im happy with my purchase. Comes as shown in picture.
I just finished putting this together; my kids (8 and 4) are sleeping in it now (or at least lying in it). Overall, I think this is a high quality product and very reasonably priced. But as other reviewers have mentioned, its a bear to put together. A few tips to make it easier:
Think (and read) ahead! A lot of the parts are symmetrical, or at least appear that way without very careful inspection. Only after you reach a subsequent step that requires you to attach something else to two subtle holes in the middle of a large piece will you realize you put it together backwards. I did this several times, at different stages, which was really frustrating. It would help if they put some pointers in the instructions (as in, make sure side with holes is facing inward).
The small bolts and the medium bolts are very close in size. Be careful not to mix them up or youll end up without enough of one or the other.
The washers stick together. Be careful not to use two instead of one or youll run out.
Tighten, but not too much! The screws can easily be stripped if you overtighten.
Finally, the plastic clips. These can go from infuriating to fairly simple if you know two things. First, the clips are not symmetrical; they only go in one way. The two vertical bars run all the way to what should be the bottom of the clip, but do not run all the way to the top. If you try to put one in the other way, youre in for a long afternoon/evening. Second, pliars. I know the clips are plastic and seem fragile. But your thumbs are fragile too, and there are a LOT of these clips to put in. Some of them snap in without much effort, but most of them were really tough. Only after my thumbs were about to fall off did I decide to risk pliars. Turns out the pliars worked great, as long as youre careful with them. They may scratch the paint a little, but I decided I could live with that. Result: thumbs recovering and no broken clips.
In the end, the bed seems very solid. I climbed up on the top bunk to test it before letting my daughter up there. Felt very solid, even for me (Im about 160 pounds).
Good luck! Be sure to have it
The bed is fairly sturdy, but does wobble a little. The ladder rings do hurt your feet so you will need to purchase foam pipe insulation (the kind that has the split down the center) to pad the rails. You might want to put some up top as well for safety. The directions are vague but common sense will help you thru that. Other than that, my boys really like the bed. It took us about 3.5 hours to put together. Not fun but the boys enjoyed it. And its over now so it really doesnt matter. All in all, for the money, we love the bed. Also, the ladder ends up being at the front of the futon, not the back as shown in the picture. Maybe that was an error on our part, but it worked out better in our room layout so we are happy. The futon is fairly easy for an adult to convert and is super comfy with the 8 inch futon mattress sold on . We like it. Were happy. Good purchase. The instructions were perfect! I didnt get confused at all

Didnt last a year.
The Cheap support under the double bed bent. The screws fall out all the time. The ladder disconnected from the railing. Dont recommend this product.
Nice, sturdy bed.
