Not bad. Pretty solid. Really only two flaws, both of which concern the ladders.
1. Hardware is provided for two ladders, one on each side, as seen in the picture. However, there are pre drilled holes for only one ladder. It is not possible to mount the rungs for the other.
2. As others have said, the rungs are too narrow. As most people dont get into bed with shoes on, its an error to make rungs out of thin rods that dig into your feet. Making wider slats would have been much more sensible. Then you have to climb OVER the railing. Poor design.
Overall, I would not buy this item again. It has potential, but was not as great as it easily could have been.
Very disappointed with the structure of the bed after it was built....i am concerned for sons safety....the screw heads holding the bed have randomly started to pop off in the middle of the night...i found pieces around bed...screw heads breaking off 1 the 1st night,2 the 2nd...screws i side look like plastic or cement but not metal. Very disappointed this is my first large purchase with ...skipped on same bed at ikea...now i have a bed that is extremely unsafe...please advise
Im giving two stars because customer service has been very helpful but the actual product is poor quality. Ill be requesting replacement parts and hopefully they will be better. At least 5 pieces from my box need to be replaced.
I bought this product for my tween ( 12 and 13 boys room. The package arrived earlier than expected and every piece was accounted for and in good condition. Instructions were easy to read and parts were marked well so there was no confusion.
Putting it together took a lot more time than I had originally estimated via other reviews. I needed the help of another because fitting parts together and lining them up properly was awkward with the heavier pieces. Some parts did not fit in together well. I.E. the slats. They would pop into one side but was just a few mm short to fit into the other. I had to heat and bend some slats to fit snug.
My boys have been using this bed for a couple of months and they really enjoy it. There is a bit of room underneath for some flatter storage totes. It is sturdy and quiet. I do recommend going over the bed every couple of weeks to make sure everything is properly tightened and not coming loose.
Over all, had there not been an issue with the slats I would have given this product 5 stars.
This is a fairly good looking Futon bunk bed. I chose this model because it uses square tubing for the frame instead of round. The top bunk is about 12 inches deep so could be used to store miscellaneous items with or without a mattress. This is what I use it for to store lots of boxes since there is not much room underneath the bottom bunk. Assembly is pretty straightforward but there are some errors in the assembly instructions. For example at the end of the manual it says you could lock the bottom in the bed position with the optional hook but in reality the hooks provided are not long enough. The quality of this frame is fair and I didnt have any missing parts or hardware. The hex wrench and hex screws are ok but you have to be careful not to strip the hex holes. Also dont over tighten the bolts because you risk rounding out said hex holes. This is important should you ever need to disassemble the bed in the future. The threaded holes in the frame pieces are fairly strong and do not strip easily since they are reinforced. Switching from couch to bed is not too difficult since the springs are low tension but you may have to put in more effort if using a thick Futon mattress since they are more difficult to fold. Overall Im quite happy with this bunk bed. The full size bottom Futon is very convenient and sometimes I just leave it in the couch position and sleep. I chose the
So far, so good. Squeaks in some areas and wobbles a bit but its a loft bed perched on 4 metal tubes essentially so I cant really expect it to be rock solid. My daughter loves it and it fit the budget. I think well get several years or more use out of it.
The design is ridiculous. ..How the heck does a kid get on the bed after climbing the ladder that kills their feet...There should be an opening and not 12 more inches for them to get over EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
I made it into two twin beds and it worked really well for my nephews summer visit - they jumped off of the ends of them a lot and they held up just fine.

Solidly built with a few glaring design flaws.

Almost a home run.

Looks nice and offers flexibility as well as convenience

Heavy duty. Many of the bunks looked at has fabric straps or ropes for mattress support. This bed had metal rods every 4. Very sturdy
