Fairly easy to assemble. My 4 year old helped me since I was 34 weeks pregnant when I finally put the bed together. She held the light weight end posts while I used the provided Allen wrench. I did that in 2 days though and broke up the install Time.
One hole on the steps end was a larger drilled hole and the screw just keeps twisting and doesnt grab the threads.
Didnt set up the desk yet because no room for it in her bedroom.
From the photo online I couldnt tell where you climbed up but its the short end of the shelves along the side of the bed. Actually stepping on the would be end of the shelf. Its metal edging section and not the shelf itself.
A little wobbly when shaking it overall but I like that its metal vs. a wooden painted bed that off gases or gets knicked.
The shelves are plywood so probably some glue formaldehyde there but no smells like I read in wooden version reviews.
Height is ideal and she loves her cave underneath with LED lights we added.
Took a while to put together mainly because I didnt pay attention to the where the ladder holes were so I had to go back a few steps. Instructions werent hard to follow, but not all parts were labeled with the corresponding letter, but still easy enough to figure out. Sturdy and hardly any noise when mattresses were in. Some small areas of rust on some of the guardrails, which I wasnt happy about because of the price, but not enough to send it back.
The box was missing couple of things....We were missing the black piece that fits into the bottom of the desk legs, so we cannot screw the wheel in. Also, the bag of D screws were missing.
very studier but it would be nice if the stair were flat instead of round they do hurt you feet. we had to wrap the stair bars. Also it would be nice if they made an opening at the top to crawl in the bunk instead of having to climb over the top bar
This was exactly what I was looking for. My boys both have crib converted full size beds and I wanted a trundle that didnt have a handle and would fit under them. This is not fancy but it definitely fit the bill. This is NOT difficult to put together. I am not particularly mechanically inclined and I figured it out with zero problems. I will purchase another to go under my other sons bed for sure. The perfect solution when family comes to visit.
There were no missing pieces, the instructions actually include words as opposed to just pictures, and the bed seems fairly sturdy. I think the sturdiness depends on how patient the builder is. Take the time to line everything up properly and leave the structural screws loose so you have play when attaching everything else, then tighten them all at the end. Catharine/Bill Coles list below of helpful installation tips was invaluable: especially the one about making sure the small drilled hole for the ladder is on the underside of the top front crossbar. There is nothing in the instructions to indicate that, and getting it wrong would necessitate undoing a lot of work. In addition, the white washers in packet 6 for the ladder dont really look like what you think of washers looking like, and unlike everything else youve done to that point they go on the inside, not the outside, of the ladder rungs. Also, on mine, there was a little bit of rust in a few places on the front top guardrail. But the main reason we purchased the beds was for their small footprint and so my daughter who is 56 could sit up comfortably on the bottom. And in those ways it delivers.
Sturdy bed. Two of the rungs (Part 7 for the ladder did not have the inside piece for the screws to catch so they cannot be secured properly. Waiting to see if the manufacturer can respond and send us the new rungs so that both ladders can be safely used. Right now we told our son to use only one of the ladders with the properly set of secured rungs on the ladder.

looks great, doesnt take up too much space
Very solid, looks great, doesnt take up too much space. Sleeps two adults in bottom bunk. Assembly was time consuming but a power driver helps.

Screws fall out and bottom bed is real low to the ground while top bed is too high so theres to much room between beds.
Good headroom, attractive, sturdy beds
