This is a great set of bunk beds. One of my friends hasnt had a true bed in six years. They are thrilled with this bed. The stairs are attached, my friend said this was good so that they wont trip over the ladder. This bed is good and sturdy.
Edit 7/15/2017: This is STILL going strong! Still sturdy, nothings loosened up. Highly recommend!!!!
I like to give furniture a little while before I write reviews on it, I bout this bed ehh about 4 months ago for my tween who is sharing a room with her baby sister. We decided it would give them more space to put the crib and stuff below this. While I will say putting this together was frustrating at times (I did it mostly alone though making it much more difficult than if you had two people this bed has really held up well! I have 4 kids total and they have literally made make-shift swings, climbed up and down hundreds of times, its been shaken, moved, everything the kids can manage to do and I have yet to have to tighten a screw or anything. It doesnt even move when my 100lb daughter gets up there.
I picked this particular model because of the ladder and I thought this type would prevent my 18 month old from climbing up it, it doesnt, but at least she cant get on the top bed because you have to step over the rails on the top. Its definitely not the easiest to do, but my kids handle it like its nothing. The color is very nice and all of my pieces aligned up well (this is big! Ive had pieces almost complete and then had to take it back for this purpose!!
This is my 2nd piece of furniture from this particular brand (we have a desk as well and I highly recommend it. Very nice quality at a very reasonable price!
Okay. Ive got mine setup with a twin mattress on top and a sofa on the bottom. Im going to jump right into the Pros and Cons.
Pros:
1. Inexpensive
2. Packaged well
3. Easy installation
Cons:
1. The top bunk is really high up. I mean Really REALLY HIGH UP.
2. Using the thin step ladder is hard on your feet.
3. If you dont nail it to the wall, its really wobbly from side to side. Front to back is okay, but also wobbles.
Took about 2.5 hours total time to put together, but that was with TV distractions while assembling the main pieces downstairs before moving upstairs. All in all, its easy assembly with decent instructions. My only complaint is that the rails are held to the posts with 1 inch screws. This does not make it unsafe, but if you pull on a corner, you will have a slight rhombus as the other end stays in place. I would recommend two people to move it just so you dont weaken the attachment points.
Not sure how I feel about them just yet.
Goes quicker if there are 2 people for assembly. Once set up they are a bit wobbly. Then again we went from wooden bunks to individual beds to these. Big change but its occupants dont seem to mind.
Nice size for our smaller bedroom, and it isnt so high we worry too much about the Grand kids falling off. Was a bit to put together, the directions just plain stink. The design is good and it is quite sturdy.
Giving it 4 stars because its a butt to put together. I started doing it and thought it was rather simple, until I realized that I had to pay a lot more attention to how the pieces went in. You have to visualize how it will face and place a hole a certain way. :-/ instead of the instructions just pointing out how it should go. My fault. My husband took over- now he is mad and says not to order from this company again because the slats on the full bed are terrible to get in. Some are a little crooked on the end and he is getting tired of putting it together. That said, its tall and large:
We originally had a smaller set of bunk beds from his sisters and they were teeny. My girls share a room and my 8 yr old, for years, hated the bottom bunk because her head would hit. They were short bunk beds. We bought these specifically because they are so tall! My girls are 8 and 3 and my 3 yr old gets scared at night, so now I can just lay down with her and we have plenty of room- even if I have the baby in tow: I think we will love the beds... If they ever get put together. I read reviews on how much ppl disliked the assembly part and now I understand why, as my husband bangs stuff around in the room- lol
One more thing that I am nervous about is that when you climb up to get into the very high top bunk, you have to hike your leg over the railing. That seems a bit like a hard, you would think there would be a space in the railing to get up there. We shall see how it goes. At least we wont be claustrophobic with all of the height. Mattresses will be delivered tomorrow- I will update when we sleep a night in them:
Update: I slept with the kids the first night. No sqeeks, sleeps well. We bought foam mattresses for them- you can put a thick, pillow to mattress and still have plenty of head room. My kids think the bed is a jungle gym- lol
We were missing a few square clips that hold the slats in place- I prob should contact them. Its a nice bed. Super tall: it would be perfect for teens. Really tall. Almost dangerous tall.
It is exactly as I had envisioned when measuring the space where the bed is now. It was very easy to assemble. Its sturdy. My child is happy with the new bed. Im happy with the purchase.

Kid tough! Strong steel construction and really quiet for being a steel bed frame. P.s. does take some common sense to assemble.
Very nice quality at a very reasonable price!

Excellent bed for a small space.

Like everyone said, annoying assembly- super high top bunk

Assembly took lot of time, around 10 hours. Assembly instructions are not complete. It moves little bit when ever my kid climbs to the upper bed.
Good purchase. Sturdy. Easy to assemble.
