Besides the grief of assembly that we signed up for when making the purchase, the most frustrating part of assembly was missing hardware. The company didn’t argue that we had it and lost it or whatever they could argue. They apologized and mailed the hardware we were missing. Interesting that I signed on to make my teens bed after buying this set up because the mattress fits tight in its nest and he cannot get the mattress corners out to hook the fitted sheet. If he kneels back from the corner, he can’t lift the corner up to hook the fitted sheet. If he stands on the ground, he can’t push the mattress up with one hand and hook the fitted sheet with the other because the mattress is too heavy and he’s not 6’2 yet. So I get to make the bed every weekend now. It your teen has a ceiling fan and the room is smaller than 12 x 12, beware. While the dimensions of the assembled full bed is smaller, a 42” ceiling fan cuts close to teen body parts. Btw, he loves the bed because his desk, gaming chair and futon fit nicely and Dad makes his bed
First thing you need to know is this ships from Canada via fed ex. It took two tries to get non broken boards. Scanica has great customer service however. It took about 6 hours to assemble ( we did use power tools other wise your hand will fall off). Dont get anything higher than 6in mattress. I dont know how long it will last its not exactly built to last, the wood is very soft. Once you assemble this its not something you can disassemble and move. I wouldnt say the steps are really designed for anyone above 150 to use. Overall our 9yr old loves it.
Great value! It took a bit to assemble even with 2 people. The result is sturdy, but the kids say if one of them moves in bed at night, it shakes the whole bed. Maybe it's how we assembled it? I'm not sure. It's not that it seems like it'll shake apart, but certainly disconcerting if your kids move around alot in their sleep. I'd still buy it again though for the design and convenience.
This bed looks great! It took me 8 hours to assemble by myself (29 year old female who is definitely not ultra strong or anything). Make sure the room you assemble it in is where it will go!! The slats that go under the mattress seem a tad flimsy, not sure how I feel about them. Definitely smaller than an adult bunk bed. We used a 6in mattress on top and it gives a good amount of rail height, which is great. We used 8in on the bottom and it doesn’t give a ton of headspace for an adult but kids should be fine.
The last step is screwing in a bracket UNDER the bed. For real??? I fit, but my husband would not have been able to do it. Couple of WTF moments but otherwise it was mostly just a very long, tedious task, not necessarily super difficult. There are a couple parts for bed and stairs that require two people, but you could easy have someone help for ten minutes and then continue by yourself.
Once assembled, it looks great, and it's durable enough to handle the weight of an average 13 year old easily. The only issue was that the directions don't match the parts well. The cross members are smaller than the ones in the directions and require fewer fasteners. Also, there weren't enough screws left by the time we were assembling the drawers, so we had to get other screws. In addition, the directions don't show which way to orient many of the boards. Though the product is nice when the assembly is done.
Very well made for the price.......no missing pieces. Extremely sturdy when put together. Takes two to assemble without fuss. Color is a bit lighter than in pictures. Just wish the bottom drawers had heavier duty rollers.....but they arent bad. Most all pieces are real pine. Fasteners are good but time consuming. Best to be super careful and use a drill/impact. Glad we got them overall.
The bed itself was super easy to put together. I recommend two people though. And the bed it self looks very nice and is very sturdy. The steps with storage on the other hand were not easy to put together multiple parts not lining up. I got it together but there was a bolt in back that would never go in. It will work fine without it and it is super sturdy but assembly for stairs was horrible. I also wish there was a way to cover the bolts or make them white.

Annoying to assemble
No pilot holes on bed slats very annoying to have to make my own for 3 dang beds
Cute, takes a long time to put together.

LOOK BEFORE BUYING MATTRESS!
"FYI" THE TRUNDLE MATTRESS HAS TO BE VERY THIN TO WORK. i BOUGHT NICE MATTRESSES AND THE TRUNDLE WOULD NOT OPEN.
Not the best directions...

Not bad
Pretty nice bed, very solid, my kids are enjoying it so far. It took for ever to ensemble but came out great in the end.
