Great design and nice color. It’s durable and one of the more economical bunk beds of its style. The one thing they overlooked was not painting the planks gray so the top bunk planks are very visible.
This bed was purchased for my daughter. The bed itself is a great product and quite sturdy. The delivery, packaging, and individual pieces or hardware are all great. It is made with a soft pine wood that is both light but sturdy and the design, along with the hardware, is nice and snug and sturdy.
I have put a lot of furniture together in my life so I knew this was a two-person job and it is. Even then, it's a mission. The process would not be so hard if the instructions were better. Not looking for photo quality instructions but they need to at least match the product. In three separate occasions the instructions did not match the parts in out hands. The first most obvious mistake is the support slats. In the picture it instructs you to put two wooden pegs and then a screw. Well there are only two holes so good luck with that!
Also, make sure you read the instructions FULLY before you build. The left vs right sidedness of the bed for the staircase matters almost immediately and if you only to step-by-step you'll be building it for the stairs to be on the right. It's not until much later that it mentions options and this is after putting on the proper slats for the railings. So read ahead.
If it weren't for the incorrect instructions (which is different than my read ahead suggestion) I would give this product full stars. To me it looks like the product was updated to reduce material cost but the instructions were not updated. There's also a part number typo where it tells you to use pieces you'd already used. Luckily the pieces are very different shapes and it's simple enough to figure out.
Anyway, the product is strong and my daughter loves it. The slats for the mattress are sturdy and everything lined-up nicely.
One last point - the mattress height. Be very aware of the limitation for the height of the mattress. Right now my daughter's pillow tends to fall off the back because she has a tall mattress and sleeps on two pillows.
Beautiful piece! Some pieces were scratched and some screws did not fit right. We had to modify but nothing major. Caveat for owners of light haired dogs! We constantly have to dust our chihuahas white hair because it shows up so easily! I hadn't thought about that!
The size is deceiving. It’s a good height for my 3 year old now but unless you want a gel mattress for the bottom, the 5” mattress recommendation is pointless. We have a 9” mattress and once my son is a little taller he will hit his head but luckily he will be on the top by then.
Excellent bed! The only two things I did not like much were the fact that it is all made of pinewood and the fact that there are two types of screws that have the same size but different threads (more details later).
In regards to the type of wood used, some select parts could be done with better materials. For instance, the slats and the side rails could be made of a more sturdy wood. Last, if you don't pay a lot of attention during assembly you may damage the half moon bolts that come with the bed. The bolts are made of soft and are not super solid. Furthermore, there are two types of screws that have the same length but two different threads. If you use the wrong screw you will destroy the half moon bolts and have to order more. Last, as the side rails are made of pine, you have to be careful with the amount of pressure you apply on the screws not to split the wood.
All that said, it is a good bed and I would buy it again. Some of the issues can be easily fixed with a bit of work. For instance, the slats can be easily replaced with mdf if you go to your hardware store and ask them to cut new slats for you.
Overall, this is a pretty good piece of furniture. When building it, the instructions were a little unclear. Definitely not for someone who has never built anything. While building it also, I noticed that lots of the screws ended up stripping the wood with minimal effort and it was unclear until I had finished screwing that the wood had been stripped. One comment I have on the instructions is that they often gave you what could have been easily 4-5 instructions, had been compressed into one complicated direction. Once the bed was built, it was very nice. I don't have many complaints on the after product but thing I noticed is that after the trundle was removed then placed back under the bed, it became very hard to re-align the trundle so that it didn't look off centered.
Boxes came in GREAT shape and on time, but some of the pieces still knicked/stripped of color near edges. Nothing that we could get over though. Wife and kids LOVE them.
Easy to assemble. Excellent product. Had a few dings from shipping but nothing major. Plus it's for kids anyway and you know what they're going to do. Overall would purchase again.
This was a beast to assemble, though the directions were pretty clear and nothing was missing. Be careful about the directions everything faces, and the large pegs that connect the two beds can be very hard to get out!!
It's sturdy and heavy and overall a good savings at these pricing over department store bunk beds.
A little bit shorter than expected but all good.

Great product - two person build with some incorrect instructions.

Met expectations so far.

Good but small

Good bed
Wood is a little thinner than I expected. But it was easy to assemble and my 5&7 yr old boys love it.
