The reason I initially bought this specific bench (after about a year of online/in-store searching for one) was simply because it so closely matched my headboard. When it arrived I decided to try to set up what I could and let my boyfriend finish it when he got home. I am the LEAST handy person but I actually ended up buildoing this beautiful baby BY MYself, start to finish. My only complaint that was easily fixed is that the predrilled/premarked holes youre supposed to screw everything into were WAY off, like it was set up in a major rush. No big deal, but it meant I had to eyeball everything and really put my back into screwing new holes. No power tools needed though. Definitely lives up to its 200lb weight limit.
Overall its a nice solid fairly quality bench, seems to be mostly real wood (back is thinner) but I was disappointed for the money spent that the inside of the bench where the bins slide in is unfinished/un stained and a bit of that can be seen even when bins are inside.
I bought the black and its a nice matte color.

The only thing I have bad to say about it is the instructions are horribleand I dont mean hard to understand, I mean they are just WRONG!
The two inside boards should be put together outside the wood boards, not the inside as shown in the directions.. also the screws should be screwed in from the inside, not the outside.
Finally, before you screw in the left end of the bench make sure the back is fitted into the grooves THEN screw the second side in, otherwise you will have to take it apart to get it to fit.
Regardless of the HORRIBLE instructions I was still able to get it put together within an hour by myself, even having to redo and refigure things.
Actually the baskets gave me the most trouble just because its hard to keep the square stable while trying to screw into such a small hole.
None the less I am happy with the final result and it is exactly what I was looking for at a decent price. (I paid 192 at the time and I couldnt find a better price anywhere for the size)
I would definitely recommend this product!

My family has been very happy with this bench. My husband had no issues putting it together. It looks great. The quality is good for the price. The only thing cheaply made is the wood bottom for the bench under the storage cabinet. We store our kids shoes in the storage compartment. we have four kids and its totally filled with shoes but it still supports the weight fine even though its a very thin piece of wood so this still received 5 stars.
Assembly is more tricky than it needs to be. A few screws are not at all easily installed. But, once its together, its pretty solid and looks as pictured (maybe a little darker).

Hard to build as its not really screwed together just pressure fitted together and the doors come off easily. Nice cabinet but not very sturdy,
