Made in Thailand according to the sticker on the back board. Went together easily. Comes with an allen wrench, but youll need your own phillips head screw driver. I wouldnt over tighten any of the large wood screws as they will pull the head in to the wood or possibly strip the pre-drilled holes. Pretty sturdy so far and the right height for me to sit on while putting on shoes. If things loosen up, i will re-assemble with wood glue. Looks great in my foyer and holds roughly six pairs of shoes, two pairs of flip flops (stacked) and two pairs of boots (all mens, size 10).
I liked this bench. My place has an odd-shaped living room thats longer than it is wide. I wanted to put this bench against the wall near the back door for shoes and miscellaneous things.
This bench is good looking and sturdy enough for the money. I wish it was a bit bigger (wasnt looking for anything to big to begin with). I did not construct it but I did not hear any complaints from my boyfriend who did so assume it went smoothly.
The quality and weight of the wood board was great. It really is sturdy enough to sit on as intended. I had read reviews that the baskets were too small - they are big enough for kids and most womens shoes and of course gloves, hats etc. My husbands boots and sneakers did not fit but we put them on the shelf above. Really looked great in our hall, Im very satisfied. Also was not too difficult to assemble, took about an hour and I did need a Phillips head screwdriver to help with assembly.
I didnt receive the back cushion so not exactly as advertised. Assembly was interesting but looks great and very sturdy. I will probably buy another one.

Cherry finishnot what I was expecting
Nice bench. The only downfall is that it does look more cherry than I was expecting, which slightly clashes with the other woods in my entryway.
