The wood is stamped poorly to follow instructions, there is only 1 support piece underneath (so I added 2 more), the screws and pegs are all together so have fun sorting everything when you open the boxes, and the stairs are only secured to the bed in the back (had to get supplies to secure it myself in the front.
You will need a drill for some pieces or work very hard with the allen wrenches.
The packaging is very safe if it's left outside though, no pieces were warped or broken.
Had to add a guard rail because it's flush with a regular mattress and not the tatami mat shown in the product's pictures.
Customer service was poor because I was supposed to be alerted by the company when it was in stock. They did not do that. I called them and thankfully was able to get one of the last ones before it ran out of stock again.
This is a project, not a simple solution, but if you want/need to build up in your room to maximize space, I recommend it. The stairs intrigued me the most because we have animals and it's easier to get up those than a ladder, also going down if you need to go to the bathroom half asleep.
It looks great. Seems pretty sturdy be we are VERY DISAPPOINTED that a piece of wood split within the first month of use. For the price, I’d expect better. A little bummed.
Decent product, not quite as sturdy as I expected, but I think thats more indicative as to the quality of products of today's age. It looks nice, the kids love it.
The assembly directions are pretty awful. A couple of the predrilled holes weren't drilled correctly, and I had to dig pieces of wood out of another bolt hole. The stairs assembly directions are some of the worst I've experienced in a while.
Few nitpicks mostly around assembly and designs choices, but my kids are really happy. It feels safe for them for sure. So thats all that matters I guess.
The price of the product wasn’t that bad! The only issues I had was the stairs not lining up to connect the bottom along with some mess ups in the wood/paint.
I really like the bunk beds with trundle, however, it is important to carefully choose the mattress for the trundle. I have the bed on carpet and purchased a very nice mattress weighing approximately 45 pounds. It is too heavy for the trundle. The side panel is in danger of being ripped off or broken. The mattress is 8 inches deep which isn't really too high even with a mattress pad and sheets. I believe it is just too heavy. I am looking for a mattress in the 20 pound range. I don't expect it will be as comfortable, but will have to sacrifice comfort in order to be able to use the trundle. I have had 2 trundle beds over the past 30 years and I believe the manufacturer could have constructed the trundle with more support and better wheels in order to allow it to roll in and out much easier with a better quality mattress.
I want to add to my previous review. I still like the bed. I believe it is made with good quality materials. However, I continue to say the trundle design is simply pathetic. As a previous owner of 2 other trundle beds...they were fabulous compared to this trundle. Even with the lighter mattress, this trundle is simply a nightmare to pull out and push back in. I find myself often just wanting to leave it out all day because it is just too much trouble to try to push it in. I am concerned, one day, the side panel will be ripped off. Because it takes a lot of pulling to pull the trundle out. Likewise, my back is taking a beating trying to get the bed pushed back in! Previous trundles that I owned were a breeze to pull in and out on carpet, because apparently they had casters, rollers or wheels that allowed them to glide in and out easily.
This bed takes a great deal of muscle power! If you're wanting to use it often, as I do, and not in tip top physical condition, look for another trundle.
Review summarized in two sentences...Looked nice when complete. Poor manufacture workmanship.
Paid several hundred dollars for this bed and expected better quality. Took about 8 hours to complete working with four other people.
Connecting Dowels: Found many dowels were undersized or not straight. Several dowels were at least 1/8” undersized and would fall out. Had to glue them in place. Were frustrated with the assembly.
Support cross beams: They were not all the same lengths. Many of them barely reach the opposite side.
3” support posts: They are not even one solid piece. Instead they were three separate pieces glued together. All other pieces were one solid piece of wood. Strange that these support posts were fabricated in this manner. I would think, cutting one solid 3” x 3” to the proper length would be cheaper than gluing and pressing three 1” wide pieces together.
Hardware: They were nicely labeled which came in handy. Do not lost any as there are just exactly enough to complete the assembly. No spare hardware.
A word of caution: Two of the hardware looked identical except the thread pattern. They were B7 and B16. By keeping each hardware in its own bag, I was able to tell them apart.

Be ready for an all day project.
Took an entire day to put this bed together. Way too much work.
It fits what I need to an extent.

As advertised
Not worth the cost
Nice bed
Some of the holes weren’t lined up like they needed to be making it harder to put together. But its a nice bed.
Attractive looking. Wood split in first month.

Poor quality - but looked nice when assembled.
